Dashboard Gadget
The Portfolio Dashboard Gadget lets you embed portfolio metrics directly onto any Jira dashboard, giving stakeholders a live view without requiring them to open the app manually.
Adding the Gadget to a Dashboard
- Open a Jira Dashboard (or create a new one)
- Click Add Gadget (top-right of the dashboard)
- In the gadget search, type "Project Portfolio Management" or "Clovity"
- Click Add next to the portfolio gadget
- Configure the gadget:
- Select a saved Portfolio or define a scope
- Choose which metrics to display
- Click Save
Gadget Configuration Options

| Portfolio | Select from your saved portfolios |
| View | Choose the summary metric type (issue count, status breakdown, etc.) |
| Date Range | Optionally restrict data to a date window |
What the Gadget Displays
- Issue count by status (e.g., To Do / In Progress / Done)
- Total estimated vs. logged hours
- Priority distribution
- At-risk or overdue issue count
Resizing the Gadget
Jira dashboards support gadget resizing - drag the bottom-right corner of the gadget to resize it on the dashboard.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| No data in gadget | Verify the portfolio scope still returns issues and you have read access to those projects |
| Blank after setup | Remove and re-add the gadget with fresh configuration |
| Gadget not found in search | Ensure the app is installed and activated in Jira (check Manage Apps) |
| Old data showing | Jira dashboards cache gadget data - click Refresh or reload the page |
Tips
- Add the gadget to your team's primary Jira dashboard for an always-visible health check
- Create separate dashboards per project or program and add a portfolio gadget per dashboard
- Combine with Jira's built-in gadgets (Sprint Health, Velocity Chart) for a complete dashboard
